About the LifeSource Programs

• Promote good nutrition through cost effective and results-oriented afterschool programs.
• Fight childhood obesity and diabetes by teaching children and youth how to make healthy choices in their lives.
• Engage participants in physical activities that promote fitness, social development and life long physical activities.
• Develop social, emotional, behavioral and academic skills for K-12 students.
• Integrate technology and education in learning environment.
• Involve parents in out-of-school time curriculum and homework help.
• Align tutoring and mentoring program with academic standards to help raise reading and math test scores.

Tutoring Program

LifeSource tutors work with small groups of students in reading and mathematics at various elementary and middle schools throughout the District.

The following are our basic guidelines for tutoring in our program:
• Must be available between 3:00p and 6:00pm on Mondays-Thursdays.
• Must be able to pass an FBI fingerprint background check.
• Must have or get TB test results less than one year old prior to assignment.
• Must have valid email and working telephone number.
